Join ODU in celebrating Earth Day, with a pre- Blue goes Green week activity. The event will be held on the Kaufman Mall beginning at 11:00 am on April 15, 2010.
Sign up your company or professional society to compete to win the Repurposing with Design Contest. A great event to showcase on your corporate website; this green experience will use your creativity to take waste/trash and repurpose it into a usable structure or artwork. This contest will challenge students and professionals to reuse trash, whether from households, businesses or construction sites, to create a usable item. It could be artwork or a doghouse... Creations must be constructed from 100% waste with the exception of tape, glue, screws, nails etc. On the day of the event, a form must be filled out to document your source of the waste.
A panel of judges will evaluate all entries and the winners announced at 2:30 pm. Prizes will be given in two categories- student and professional.
Entries will be judged on the following equally weighted areas:
1. Creativity
2. Degree of impact to the environment of materials selected
3. Practicality
Team Registration is $50 with all funds donated to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Please make your check to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
